Yemeni students’ union in Orang Abad – India, assembled a demonstration in demand of their payments, delayed for 6 months, including study fees, books payment and private pocket money. The demonstrators issued the following statement:
Thanks to God and Peace be Upon his Prophet Mohamed
In great resentment, Yemeni students in Orang Abad – India are waiting for their delayed payments for delegation students and new commers, including study fees, books payment, pocket money and flying tickets. Payments are delayed for 6 months now since the beginning of 2018 although all documents, procedures and lists are done. What rises concerns is complete silence of the government that ignored the suffering of Yemeni students abroad. Those students are now carrying great burden due to this delay as they are now vulnerable to be dismissed from foreign universities because of their inability to pay annual study fees. Therefore, we are expressing our great concern about this silence especially from the ministry of higher education and council of ministers. We demand them to quickly send our delayed payments for the first, second and third quarters of 2018 in addition to the fourth quarter of 2017. Furthermore, we demand them to send study fees for the academic years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 and books payment of three years. In addition, we demand that our private payments to be reconsidered to solve our serious situation. We also demand that our payments to be punctual as it is not acceptable for students to be busy with demonstrations and follow-ups instead of their study because their government is not attentive! In case of not responding to these demands all delegated students and their families will have to leave their places and stay inside the cultural delegation residence as all Yemeni bodies should bear their responsibilities towards this situation.
May God direct us all to the right path.
