President of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council Maj.General Ahmed Ben Brek announced that the National Assembly is in the coming days is at a date with an important political advantage at the first session of the National Assembly, which is an extension of the constituent session that held early this year.
Maj.Ben Berek confirmed that the inauguration of the first session will begin on Sunday 8th July 2018 and will continue its meetings on 9th and 10th July. Members of the National Assembly, will engage in administrative tasks in completing the NA’s objectives, which the National Assembly was established for. It includes a strong and unique balance and a variety of different political orientations, intellectual and cultural representatives from various regions of the South.
He pointed that the first session of the National Assembly, comes at a sensitive, articulated and accurate stage, especially in light of the growing political movement on the current stage under intensive international efforts to end the conflict and stop the destructive war. A war which debilitated the country and the people and obliged all parties and political forces to engage in dialogue and negotiation to redraft the political process correctly that leads to a just and comprehensive solution which end wars and conflicts and establish lasting peace.
Maj.General Ben Berek said that the STC in its latest meeting whether internationally or nationally within the south-south liaisons is serious and determined to proceed with all the political challenges that meet the aspirations and hopes of the people of the South and ensure victory and its free will. This came in the context of the interview conducted by the weekly paper the ‘4th May’.
