The southern resistance forces the legitimacy and pro-Al-Ahmar elements to cancel a military parade in Aden

The southern resistance forced today the legitimate government to cancel a parade at the military college in Salah al-Din camp, west Aden. The parade was scheduled to mark the graduation of new batches of military academies and institutes, but it confined to an indoor ceremony in a medium-sized hall, amid a reluctance of a large number of graduates.

The southern resistance stationed in the mountains overlooking the military college, launched an armed attack on Yemeni flag raising sites near the podium and military parade ground with a view to taking them down. The attack was followed by an exchange of fire and armed clashes between the Special Security Forces and the southern resistance.

The two-hour clashes resulted in the death of one of the graduates and the injury of at least three of his colleagues and caused a state of chaos among the two thousand graduates. The military commanders left right after the armed clashes ceased.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Eng. Ahmed Al-Misri, Deputy Chief of General Staff, Major General Saleh Al-Zindani,  commander of the Fourth Military Region, Major General Fadl Hassan al-Omari, and a number of government officials and military and security commanders were scheduled to attend the ceremony.

A source at the military college exclusively told "Aden Press" that what happened today was expected, it is similar to what happened on the same occasion last year, expressing his regret over the recurrence of such events.

The source held the elements loyal to the Vice President of the Republic, General Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar -the arms of the Brotherhood and Qatar in legitimacy- responsible for the incident, by their insistence on a provocative move to raising the flag of Yemen, as part of their efforts to thwart any presence of the military college in Aden and to transfer it to Marib.

The same source confirmed that it was agreed to hold a graduation ceremony without raising any flag to Yemen or the South and to only raise the flags of the military college, what happened was contrary to the agreement, it was a kind of challenge and a breach.

He pointed out that southern elements came on Friday evening to Salah al-Din camp requesting the ceremony organizers to abide by the agreement and they came again on Saturday morning to the camp to renew the same request, however, they did not abide by the agreement which pushed the resistance to resort to force to counter any challenge and provocation to the southern will and to the resistance that presented convoys of martyrs, wounded, prisoners and detainees in the course of its peaceful and armed struggle.
